It seems like kids hurtle toward adulthood faster every year. And they won’t wait for you to introduce them to what God’s Word has to say about life. Today, more than ever, children’s and youth ministry are vitally important. The goal of AWANA is to produce young people who understand God’s Word and chose to obey it.
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. It says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who is not ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of Truth.”
The goals of AWANA are:
1. to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ
2. to train them to serve Him
Cubbies is for preschoolers
In this program the kid’s seeds of faith are planted in young minds.
They will come to understand God’s love for them and learn to talk to God through prayer.
It is a fast-paced, engaging, hands-on adventure!!
Sparks is for children from Kindergarten to Grade 2
This program introduces kids to Bible characters and events and teaches why they are important.
The Sparks enjoy large group time with T&T, an exciting game time, a small group book time with leaders who love kids, with the program closing with a short large group and awards ceremony.
Truth & Training is designed especially for children from Grade 3-6
T&T uses a question and answer format with answers backed up by scripture.
The materials help kids love God.
This group will rotate between large group, game time, and book time much like the Sparks Club.
For each section completed in the children’s handbooks, clubbers receive an AWANA dollar. The winning team at game time also receives an AWANA dollar. The AWANA store is open three times per year – full of exciting ways to spend the AWANA dollars they earn.
