It is a series of four classes designed to move participants from a common understanding of the basics of “what we believe” to growing into deeper relationship with Christ and living a “Jesus Shaped Life” of discipleship. The four steps are Connected, Centered, Shaped and Equipped.
1. Connected: Exploring Grace Point
This one-and-a-half-hour class serves to orient participants to what our purpose is, what our values are and how we do life together at Grace Point Church. This class is offered at intervals throughout the year.
This 10-week class explores the possibilities of a life centered on Christ through personal reading and reflection, weekly group conversation, worship and celebration. Topics include: What it means to follow Christ, the cost of discipleship, prayer, stewarding God’s resources, serving and more.
This is also the entry point into a formal partnership with Grace Point through signing of the Grace Point Family Covenant. Stay tuned to our home page posts for the start of the next set of classes. We encourage you to sign up for a Connected class prior to taking Centered.
Upon completion of Connected and Centered you will be invited to take this class, in which you will discover how God as uniquely shaped you to make an impact by serving others. Shaped is a two-session class, the first part is a two-hour session normally scheduled on a Saturday morning, and the second session takes place on Sunday before the worship service.
3. Equipped: Serving the World
The final step in the Explore Pathway, is based upon A Jesus Shaped Life and will be offered over a full year, divided up into four phases:
Phase 1: We will explore the life Jesus lived and we will learn to listen to Jesus. Phase 2: We will practice Jesus’ life patterns as a means for transforming our hearts and lives. Phase 3: We will learn how to lead others to live this Jesus shaped life Phase 4: We will be released to be disciples who disciple others.
There are no absolute prerequisites at this time, however, this final class is a logical progression to have completed Connected, Centered and Shaped.
