It seems like kids hurtle toward adulthood faster every year. And they won’t wait for you to introduce them to what God’s Word has to say about life. Today, more than ever, children’s and youth ministry are vitally important. The goal of AWANA is to produce young people who understand God’s Word and chose to obey it.
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. It says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who is not ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of Truth.”
The goals of AWANA are:
1. to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ
2. to train them to serve Him
Cubbies is for children aged 4
It is a fast-paced, engaging, hands-on adventure where seeds of faith are planted in young hearts and minds. Children will come to understand God’s love for them and learn to talk to God through prayer.
Sparks is for children in Kindergarten through Grade 2
Each week the Sparks enjoy large group worship and Bible teaching, small group handbook time, exciting games in the gym, and are recognized for their handbook achievements at the end of the evening. The Sparks handbooks focus on Bible characters and key Biblical events – teaching why they are important.
Truth & Training (T&T) is for children in Grades 3-6
Each week the T&Ts participate in the same activities as the Sparks, but with their peer group. The T&T handbooks encourage children to delve into God’s Word and explore God’s Grace through individual Bible studies and verse memorization.
We have special theme nights, contests and the much anticipated AWANA store several times throughout the year.
PLEASE NOTE for FALL 2019: AWANA registration is now closed due to reaching clubber capacity for the number of leaders serving. If you are interested in serving or for more information, contact Joy – Director of Children’s Ministries at 780-466-8290 or firstname.lastname@example.org
